The Blue & White is a football fanzine that is dedicated to Chester FC. The fanzine was set up in 2011 by editors Richard and Neil Bellis. Charlotte Walker designs the fanzine. We publish three issues a season, in August, December and April. All profits we make are donated to the club in various ways. In the past we’ve supported the Junior Blues, Community Trust, fundraising efforts, and ran a ticketing scheme with a local foodbank that was taken over by the club.
The fanzine was shortlisted for the FSF/FSA Fanzine of the Year in 2013, 2017, and 2019.
Richard is a historian of medicine and currently holds postdoctoral positions at the universities of Bristol and St Andrews. He contributed to Falling for Football, and edited Pundit Colouring and Special Ones Colouring, which are both colouring books about football. His first Chester game was the promotion winning match against Scarborough in 2004, which he watched on top of a van outside the stadium. Naturally he was immediately hooked.
Neil has recently left working in the PR world. Previously a senior reporter at the Chester Standard, he has now gone freelance to write about anything which will pay. His first Chester game was the promotion winning match against Scarborough in 2004, which he watched on top of a van outside the stadium. Naturally he was immediately hooked.
