Submissions

The Blue & White welcomes submissions from anyone with a passion for football. Whilst The Blue & White is ultimately a Chester FC fanzine, you do not need to be a Chester fan to submit.

What we are looking for is high quality articles, pictures or illustrations that are related to football and/or Chester FC. If you are interested in the history of floodlights, or the career of Goran Milosavijevic, if you have a story about the best away game you’ve ever been to, or even your favourite half time pie, we want to hear from you. We want interesting and unique articles, or articles about a common topic that puts a different slant on it than is the norm. You can submit an article to The Blue & White in two ways: online and by post. See below for the submission guidelines.

Similarly if you have taken a cracking picture of a Danny Collins tackle, or an atmospheric landscape of Chester’s victory parade on winning the Evo-Stik Division One North, please send it in. Or if you can draw a great illustration of the team in action, or an hilarious cartoon on the behind the scenes going on at Vaughan’s Chester City we would love to see it. We’re looking for attractive and imaginative photos and drawings to lavish the pages of The Blue and White. Our submission guidelines for pictures and drawings are also below.

Our online submission guidelines for articles are as follows:

  • Articles may be of any length. However, most articles we publish are one or two pages, either 400-500 words or 800- 1,000 words, but articles which are longer will be accepted if they are of sufficient quality.
  • Send submissions to enquires@theblueandwhitefanzine.co.uk
  • Please type ‘submission’ in the subject line of the email.
  • All submissions must be contained within the body of an email. Any email with an attachment will be deleted without being read.
  • Within the email please include your legal name, contact details, word count and a short, third person author bio of no more than one hundred words.
  • We aim to reply to all submissions as soon as possible. The Editors decision is final.
  • However, if an article is interesting, but could be improved, we will offer our ideas on improving the article.
