NEWS – New Designer Needed

The current designer of TB&W, Michael Kinlan, is stepping down from his role due to increased work commitments. He’s been absolutely brilliant over the past two and a half years and has done a great job in making the fanzine the striking ‘zine that it is. So, cheers for that Michael.

Now however, we need a new designer. We are looking for someone who is:

–          Experienced with photoshop / indesign / and illustrator (mostly indesign)

–          Able to make stuff look awesome

–          Available throughout most of November/December (issue 8), March/April (issue 9), July/August (issue 10) and so on.

–          Affable

The grid, styles and guidelines are set for the fanzine so the meat of the work will be laying out the new articles, illustrating some articles and generally making the articles look as nice as possible within the current design structure.

Also the illustrations have a certain style that can be replicated quite easily using photoshop brush sets and some creative google image searches.

We will supply a guide called “Designing the Blue & White for Beginners”, to give an overview of how to quickly get to grips with TB&W look and feel.

However, there will be scope to make the design of the ‘zine more ‘your own’ subject to editorial discussion and approval.

Further, some knowledge of website design would be useful, though the physical fanzine is the priority.
