Chester beat Droylsden to complete the double over the Manchester based club and extend their winning streak to 12 games. Chester raced into an early lead scoring three through Sarcevic, Curran and Danny Williams in the first eight minutes and Nathan Turner added another just before the break. Meanwhile James Ellison got one for the home side and after the break he added another two to complete his hat-trick and make a few Chester fans glad that they wore brown trousers today. Here are a few things that we noticed.
1. Danny Williams and Antoni Sarcevic
Absolutely tore them apart in the first half. They are two really good players and it is interesting to watch them as Sarc seems like the player Danny Williams will be in a year’s time. Williams is very young and does need to work on his final ball a bit but just think back to where Sarc was a year ago. To be fair to Droylsden they adapted in the second half and kept them both a lot quieter but by then the damage was done.
Bit of a surprise to see him on the team sheet today but he was very solid and scored the goal of the game.
3. James Ellison
Took the match ball home despite being on the losing side. Some very good finishes from him but he didn’t seem to do much else. Probably because the team behind him weren’t up to much.
Not brilliant by the end of the game was it? Made for a few scary moments after the third one went in. Not sure if it’s because Linwood and Collins aren’t used to playing together but both would be annoyed by being turned by Ellison at the end of the match. Got to say that Danby couldn’t do anything about the goals, all very good finishes.
