Gareth Seddon scored an absolute beauty to make sure Chester took a point off second placed Luton. Luton opened the scoring after Andre Gray was given far too much space inside the box to turn and shoot but Chester pegged them back soon after with a superb strike from Seddon from 20 yards. In between the goals Chester were denied a stonewall penalty when McNulty briefly thought he was at Twickenham by handling Seddon’s bicycle kick towards goal. Here are some thoughts about the match…
1. MOM Seddon
I know the official one went to Higginbotham but for me it was Seddon. Lead the line brilliantly and took his goal really well. Visibly tired towards the end so it might have been nice to see Wilkinson on for a bit but fair play to Seddon he caused problems for them. Hopefully he’s in a bit of form now.
2. Even game
Thought the game overall was fairly even. Luton started brighter and I was fearing the worst at 1-0. They were totally outplaying us but they seemed to take their foot of the gas and let us back in. We then dominated the rest of the first half and deserved to equalise. Second I thought was even with neither side really looking like they were actually going to score. A fair result and a great one against the second placed team.
Never in all my years have I seen such an obvious pen waved away. Referee you are a moron. If a man is waving his arms above his head in the way of a shot that is a foul. I know he was very close to Seddon but what the hell was he waving his arms about for?
4. Luton fans
Lots made the trip and they were fairly noisy. From where I was there didn’t seem to be any problems with the crowd so just wanted to say thanks to any Hatters reading this. Real credit!

The new sponsorship deal is pretty cringeworthy isn’t it? To be honest I’m not going to moan further as its not like we are rolling in money or we’ve sold our soul as a club. The substitution announcement isn’t exactly revered after all. Its part of a sponsorship deal which will mean we are more likely to turn a profit this year. I’m fine with that.
