BLOG – Solihill Moors 0-3 Chester. Post Match Thoughts

Chester continue their fantastic run of form and make it five wins out of five. It was a solid rather than spectacular performance against a limited (read: a bit rubbish) Moors side, with the highlight being Jarman’s outstanding volley early in the match. Overall it was a pretty standard day out for the Blues: a fantastic goal, Powell booked, the Millsbot and three points. But once again, here’s a list of stuff which I’m trying to pass off as an article.

1. Millsbots Are Go

Another goal for Ben Mills in between Jarman’s stunner and Howard’s tap in. That makes it five in five for Mills too! This will of course lead to more calls for his signature and he does look like he would be a cracking addition to the Blues. There are rumours of him costing something in the region of 8-10k, which is obviously a large sum for the club so it’s definitely not a done deal yet. However, Proudlock is looking like he’ll be shipped out on loan to save some money… you never know. One thing that isn’t true though, is that the club has loads of money swilling about. If we did we wouldn’t need to reduce the wage bill to bring in players.

2. Rockets

Tomorrow morning Youngy will be buying a box of rockets to put up the arses of several players. We did the job today, but there were too many times where players weren’t concentrating properly. I imagine the players won’t need any motivation against Halifax and Guiseley though.

3. John Danby

Had a cracking game. Really has been the unsung hero these past few weeks. Every match we’ve played has been very tight at times and he’s managed to pull off some vital saves.

4. Lovely

What a nice day out that was. A characterful little ground, decent grub, sunshine and even ice creams. It really is worthwhile going to these smaller clubs as they’re always doing their best and it’s always very good.

As ever, feel free to comment on whatever you like. Except pies.

Hi Richard, thanks for these blogs. They are an excellent summary of the games played thus far. Was at the match yesterday and agree you thoughts. We should have been out of sight by half time but if we can play that poorly and win that easily then this can only be a good thing. Cheers, Jim.
